About the Foundation
The Kindness Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago. An Illinois 501(c)(3) charitable organization, its mission is to support meaningful initiatives that improve the communities it serves and enhance the quality of life for fellow citizens. Through hundreds of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago agent and employee contributions, the Foundation is making year-end grants this year of $50,000 to the Sunshine Kids and $20,000 to the HomeServices Foundation for Housing Equity.
The Sunshine Kids is a national non-profit organization that supports children undergoing cancer treatment through exciting, positive group activities and events, free of charge allowing them to have fun and celebrate life. For more information about the Sunshine Kids, please

The HomeServices Foundation for Housing Equity was formed to increase homeownership and generational wealth for African Americans and other people of color through education, investment in individuals, financial assistance and community reinvestment.
